Ripping from Sega Saturn game

Post by Kionon » Sat Jan 05, 2008 4:32 am

Old game is oooooooooold. I'm going to start working on the remaster of Utena (Story of a Girl), and I used footage from the game. What ways are available now to rip the sequences?

In fact this guide refers to the same game (he used it in Particle Dance). However, I was wondering if there were any new methods. Hence "available now."

You could try a .CPK DirectShow Parser and then use DirectShowSource or graphedit to convert to Huffyuv. Since the format is just Cinepak or TrueMotion then you can probably just get away with either system decoders or the ones in ffdshow.

Whether or not it'll work, there's a .CPK parser here:

I can't test as I don't have a Saturn nor any games for it (although I do have the official cutscene DVD for the Eva Saturn game, which I bought from CDJapan).
