DVD Ripping program questions with Vista

I want to use the DVD ripping programs recomended in one fo the guides on this site, but they were made for XP so I am not sure if they will work with my Vista Home Premium OS. I just don't want to install them if it will endanger my computer - so, will these programs work with vista?

i have windows vista and windows xp and both DVDFab Platinum 4 and dvdshrink 3.2 work fine
