grabbing/editing from VCD

Post by apintrix » Thu Jun 26, 2003 5:24 pm

hiya! I'm new around here. Have a video idea burning a hole in my head, and all of Escaflowne on VCD. Is there a way to grab/ edit movie from VCDs? (I've never done any editing at all, so I realize I'm in way over my head already, but it never hurts to try!)

Alternatively, is anyone willing to work on a single video with a college grad and general artsy-fart type in the cambridge, MA area?

Get virtualdub and the huffyuv video codec, then just convert the .dat files on your vcds into huffyuv avis.

Zarxrax, thanks for the (speedy!) advice-- I tried to get the huffyuv codec but failed. Got a readme file and no installer. Does anyone know where to get it, or is anyone willing to put it up somewhere I can grab it?

To install it you need to extract all the files, right click on the .inf file and choose install.

It ain't a binary file.

It's a Right-click on INF -> INstall -> Installs DLL type of thing. Yeah.
