Problem playing ogg file

Post by DanManXYZ » Sun Oct 05, 2003 8:25 pm

I have a .ogm file that I have been trying desperately to play but can't seem to get to work. The video codec it uses, according to GSpot, is xvid. The audio codec is ogg_vorbis_1 (0x674f) Ogg Vorbis. The audio seems to be working, the video, however isn't. I have 3 video codecs installed and all up-to-date that are supposed to be able to play this file. FFdshow, 3ivs, and XVid.
Using simply xvid or 3ivx produces an extremely blocky video image that crashes the video player after about 30 seconds. The players I test it in btw, are WMP and Divx player. When I use ffdshow as the codec to play the file it gives me what appears to be the video image i'm looking for, great quality. The only problem is it crashes after about 20 seconds of playing. I don't know if the video itself is messed up, I don't think it is, but is there a way to check a .ogm for errors? I know you can check an avi for errors in Virtual Dub. Any ways any suggestions on this problem would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dan

I already have that installed.
Don't worry about it though. I dl'ed the VirtualDubMod and was able to open the ogg file using that. I scanned the file for errors and found that everything past 20secs or so was corrupted. So the file is garbage I guess, thanks for anyways for the help though.
