Importing full episodes HELP

Post by Spitfire666xXxXx » Sun Dec 14, 2003 10:52 pm

I really want to make a AMV about somthign other then Dragon ball Z but I cant because everytime I DL a episode of a show or a movie its AVi format. Which usually not a problem but when I try to import full movies and episodes it freezes my adobe and I cant do it. I tryed compressing them but it only makes them 1 mega byte smaller and it still wont except it. I have Adobe Premiere 6.5 and have Divix and Kazaa light codex packs. Can anyone help me so I can start making other Amvs?

THANKS SOOOOO MUCH!

I should start keeping a running count of how many times I have to say this on the forums:

Don't use DivX source footage. It's not frame accurate, and it has a nasty habit of crashing editing programs.

Don't try recompressing them either; it will only make them look worse. Convert them to HuffYUV (suggested that you only take the clips you need) and edit with those, which won't crash Premiere.

Try VirtualDubMod.

And I totally forgot to say this in my earlier post, but if you don't have the hard drive space for HuffYUV clips, you could always try using AVISynth's AVISource command to frameserve the DivX AVIs you have. I've never tried this myself, but other people have suggested it, and I don't see why it wouldn't work.
