Adobe Premeire & Windows Movie Maker Troubles. Deadline

I want to make an AMV for anime boston. Ive got a great idea but Adobe Premeire wont play my video files smoothly, and I dont have XP so I cant use windows movie maker. Is there any other software I could use?

Man, that's a helluva deadline.

I think I know your problem: are you using DivX fansubs?

If so, then stop right now. Problems playing back DivX is Premiere's way of punishing those who don't use DVDs...

I was using raw video from an mpeg file. I'll check out that site.

Another thing, I dont know if it matters. The video only skips when it is in the editing part. When I watch it other places in the program, it plays fine.

MPEGs aren't great for editing either. Consider frameserving them with AVISynth or just taking the clips you need and converting to HuffYUV AVIs.
