Footage flicker Problem. ::please help::
I just can't figure out how to fix this, maybe you guys can help.
Okay, fo some reason the video in the timeline is coming out very freezy, laggy, as if it was a poor frame rate. It doesnt do this when I play the original source, the mpeg. its smooth and fine. it stays laggy if I render it, it stays laggy if I export it to avi. But the confusing thing is it seems to be only this part. previous parts of the same video are fine, and do not lag at all. I really need to fix this.
im using
adobe premiere 6
DVD rip MPEG
PAL 25 fps
editing mode: video for windows
timebase: 25
compressor: huffy
frame rate: 25
thank you all in advance

Hi, next time you have a specific question about using a program such as this, you'll probably wanna post in the Software Help forums.
I suggest that you use Huffyuv-encoded AVIs instead of MPEG-1 or -2's as your source footage.. You can find more info on this in the Guides. Also, instead of using Huffyuv as the renderer (aka the "Compressor" in Premiere), try using a faster codec such as the PICVideo MJPEG Codec.

I thought you should be editing in 24fps or 29.something fps. Also, I'm wondering if you've rendered your work area. If you don't, searching through your timeline is laggy as hell. For me it is, anyway. It's up in the 'timeline' pulldown.podge_again wrote:I just can't figure out how to fix this, maybe you guys can help.

Not if your source is PAL; then it's 25 fps. Which I suppose might be the case if you're working with European DVDs.Teh_Reel wrote:I thought you should be editing in 24fps or 29.something fps.
