I have a problem with Windows media player.

Post by UndeadWarlord » Tue Mar 30, 2004 5:25 pm

When I'm watching videos in the windows media player the screen sometimes turns green about half way though a video. This seems to happen watching videos that are on a playlist, but not when I play the video by itself. Can someone tell me why this is happening?

Never heard of that problem before... I'd recommend trying a different player.

Could be a codec issue. Some videos do similar things to me, sometimes. I have one video that will usually play just fine. But, on occasion, it will look all screwey for about ten seconds before it crashes WMP.

I started having this problem ever since I downloaded the upgrade for the windows media player.

First off: Try the above solutions of unistalling/reinstalling WMP

Stuff:
  • A) Make sure you have the right codec (w/ WMP - no problem usually)
    b) Make sure you have the latest directx for your OS
    c) Make sure you have the latest drivers for video card/monitor
    d) Make sure your monitor isn't old (getting old; deteriotating)
    e) Make sure you aren't having problems with memory
    f) Make sure your card isn't overheating

I've tried all of those things and none of them worked, and I know the videos are not corrupt, because they play flawlessly if I open into WMP from my desktop or if I open them with another program. The only thing I can think of is that My computer isn't completely compatible with WMP.
