I'd like to take a certain section of a piece of video (as in, a certain section of the screen) and crop out the rest so that it plays and so that the video layer underneath is visible so that it can play, too.
"Clip" almost worked, but the black backing ground is covering up the video layer underneath.
Also, it is possible to apply one filter to several clips in a row or do I have to apply the filter to each clip individually?

(Basically does the same thing as Clip, but much better control -- you can make any quadrilateral, not just a rectangle. And no yucky black fill.)
(If you're using Premiere 6.5 or lower, though, it's not called that; it's just the box in the corner of the Transparency window with the four handles that you can adjust.)
