"Cutting" Episodes

Okay, so I have a Mac O.S. 10 with iMovie. Unforuntaly, iMovie has a limit to what you can import into it. Full episodes are too big. I have some full episodes on my computer in .avi format already. I need them in order to make AMVs. So, how excatly can I "cut" the episodes into smaller portions and put them in iMovie. Is that even possible? I'd apperciate any help. Thanks!

I don't know if Virtualdub can be used for Macs, but that's normally a good program to use to cut down episodes.

I looked into it...but no, Virtualdub cannot be used with a Mac.

hey yukina
i had a similar problem where when i couldnt import big files into video editing softwares

i used a handy tool called "Easy Video Splitter" that can split videos accordingly
you can cut episodes in clips of any particular time range you want
for example splitting episodes into 10 second clips

or it also lets you cut the video according the the file size
for example splitting the vidoe into 1 MB clips
