Mpg codec

Post by alicia_chan8 » Mon Jun 07, 2004 8:48 pm

Oookaay!

I've managed to finally cut down my problem a little more - i seem to have a computer which is allergic to codecs. :(

Anyway - Many of my mpg files play though fine - but should I try to fast forward or jump to a part - it'll freeze on me - the video that is.

But this problem is fixed when I installed a codec called MPEG2 filter - which was in a codec pack. But although it fixed that particular problem - it created another one. Many of my other movies - and the same mpg ones - their playing time got all screwed up.

For example, a 7 min video came up as 1:20 and so on. You can play them through - but the time is all screwed.

Can anyone recommend another mpeg codec that won't cause this problem? i would be so grateful!

Right. I have a similar problem. Can I just ask you where you got that MPG2 codec? I've lost the WMV1 and W347 codecs. But, if the time is bothering you, try getting DIV-X player (If you haven't already). It might help with the clock thing. If not, download WMP again. I'm sorry I can't help...
