This is weird, because my AVS scripts have been doing fine for a long time, and now I'm getting these "Unrecognized exception!" errors whenever I try to put in my avs files in my project.
Most of my scripts have simply 4 lines:
SetMemoryMax(32)
MPEG2source("D:\source\source01.d2v")
Telecide()
Decimate(5)
Up to now I haven't had any problems. Now I'm experiencing the dreaded "unrecognized exception!" (D:\source\source01.d2v, line 2) error message. Once more, sometimes I test these scripts in VirtualDub, and sometimes it will work, and then the next time I try it, it creates that "unrecognized exception!" error again.
I've tried recreating the D2V files, and it will have the same intermittent results.
What should I do now? How can I get my editing programs to read my AVS scripts once again?

wow! I just started doing all of this today, and I'm having the same issues with Unrecognized Exception! and line 2 stuff. Sounds like the right thing to try first is uninstalling the pack and trying again... is that right? Or maybe I should use DVD2AVI to convert my VOBs again...? My script seems fine, the paths are correct:
LoadPlugin("C:\AVSFilters\MPEG2Dec3.dll")
MPEG2Source("C:\D2VPROJECTS\milleniumproject_01.d2v")
Its all so overwhelming

I came back from the states and started the first video in 10 months. I installed the amvapp and everything worked fine.
2 days later, AFTER INSTALLING Windows Media Codec via windows media player, I got the dredded, "Exception Error" . I tried to fix it but got frustrated and re-installed windows.
After installing the WMV codec again I got the error once again. I uninstalled the amp app and re-installed it without avisynth and then installed avisynth 2.55 with the decomb521 and MPEG2Dec3. I used the ones VicBond007 recommends in his guide and all works well.
My conclusion.
Windows Media Codec screws around with the mavapp.
The only downpart is that the plugins isn't autoloaded. Other than that everything is cosy.
