Studdering Playback

im trying to make a video in premiere pro and when i try to preview it, it pretty much plays but it stutters/lags to where i see everything happen twice... Anyone out there know what to do?

What video files are you editing with?
Chances are they're Divx/Xvid files, which are not very good to work with premiere.

well i downloaded the Advent children avi's then converted them to mpegs.
imported to Pre. pro and draged into the timeline and just wanted to see if everything was ok. the video double takes.

MPGs are also not very cooperative with Premiere at times.
Try making AVIs using the huffyuv codec which is lossless and great for editing.

you mean just pick Huffy as my compresser in the video part when you create a project, and import the vid as avi or what?(feel free to msg me on aim so we dont ahve to keep posting)

No, he means use V Dub Mod to make the .avis HuffyUV .avis. Also, try just picking up the e3 DVD and rip it yourself. (Its only $20)
