Okay. I'm on the verge of just uninstalling it all and giving up until I get my hands on a better computer (preferably a Mac).
I'm using a Windows 98 Pentium 2 with in the neighborhood of 380 megs of RAM.
I installed Premiere 6.5. It works fine.
I installed AMVapp (first the old version, then uninstalled it and then installed the new beta version), and most of it seems to work.
I ripped Voices of a Distant Star from DVD; the rip worked smoothly. I used DGIindex or whatever it's called now and it's D2V incarnation BOTH to convert the vob to d2v files. Worked fine.
Avisynth 2.5 would not run at all in my copy of Windows Media Player (I kept getting "Not enough memory!" messages even when I had freshly rebooted). It wouldn't even do the colourbars script. So, I uninstalled it and reinstalled Avisynth 2.08 since I got it first and it worked but had uninstalled it for 2.5.
However, it seems like no matter what I do, avisynth won't open the d2v files!!! When I don't tell it to load the pluggin, it complains that it can't read d2v. When I DO tell it to load the pluggin, it claims that "This isn't an Avisynth 1.0 Pluggin!" and won't work. WTF? Avisynth 1?! I never had Avisynth 1 at all! Why is this an issue? What am I doing wrong here? Why won't it work and why does it think I have Avisynth version 1?
"Not an Avisynth 1.o pluggin" WTF? WORK!!! *fraspe
