Sooo does anyone know if theres a way to lock picture to the timeline? Every time I make an edit with this damn thing it changes the whole damn piece. I just want to trim or mess with certain clips without moving it all. I looked around the menus didnt see anything like it.

OK so I read whats your problem (don't feel bad I'm poor too) you want to create images from your clips right? Well what you can do is by splitting the clip you want into the least amount of time, then save the movie, after that you go to Microsoft PowerPoint then go insert Movie (which was the movie you made) and save your slide as an image. Hopefully that was what you asked for. Ow ya and to make the "clip image" so that it doesn't move you would have to press the buttun which somewhat looks like this ll> Hopefully you get the picture.

I believe that's just the nature of the beast. WMM is meant to be a linear editor, not a non-linear one.
Which basically means that unless you want to do a lot of extraneous moving around of clips, you have to start at the beginning and work your way through to the end, making sure every section is just the way you want it before moving on.

I'm a sound engineer so I use sound editing programs all the time. I got real used to being able to cut a section out and have a balnk space there for me to play with.
