getting rid of Interlace

Does anyone have some tips on how to get rid of that nasty interlace from video footage. I've tried using de-interlace tools but they just don;t seem to cut t for me.

Avisynth has several different filters for removing interlacing from captured footage. http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/avtech/

Have you tried installing the AMVapp and using it to get the lines out.
