I've been trying to make some more AMVs, but with bigger, better quality. Unfortionatly for me, it doesn't seem to be working. Here what I do.
1. I capture my video clips Using "UleadVideoStudio 6," since programs like "VirtualDub" don't work well for me. I capture at NTSC DVD 740x480 or Mpeg 2 at 640x480. for the mepg2 I also render it at a 320x240 size, since when the 640x480 is imported to premeire, it freezes up when I try to play it, that goes the same for any other size other than 352x240 or smaller. the quality is good and it plays rather smoothly when I capture like this.
2. Then I import the clips to premeir. they start to do weird things. When I try to mark the section of the clip I want, it marks a different area, either an area before or after it. It also plays slow at times. But the real problem is when dropped into the timeline. the clips play jarry, it plays in a sort of "still image" type format, its like frames dropped, and the ones that are there take seconds to get to the next frame than it should.
I've tried alot of things to fix this, but I can't seem to do so. Has this happend to anyone before, and if it has, how did you fix this? I would really love to know. Thanks ahead of time for your replies.

You shouldn't directly edit MPEG2 files with Premiere.
Serve it through AVIsynth.
