More wonderful overlay questions

Post by James Sharp » Tue Feb 15, 2005 7:27 pm

I now know how to do the standard overlay types, thanks to the help of you all and the guides. My newest question is that if i can use a jpeg to make flashes in a clip. could i export lets say a video frame of some stars into a bitmap and edit it in paint shop pro. then reinsert it at the right time so that only the stars flash to the beats?

Sure. in premiere you can goto file ---> export --->frame. And then edit in whatever you want, and then import it back in.

It would be tough to do with footage that have a lot of things moving around. If you could find a clip that had some very distinct lines between the dark sky and what was going on below. You could overlay the bitmap, just over a portion of the clip. This is still something you are going to have to edit a lot of frames.

Not quite sure what you're asking. A white flash.. or something about stars? I'll go with the white flash. Cut the clip into a small fragment, use the video effect "Lens Flare" on it, then set it to 300%. :o

Um, Premiere Pro will do that. Go to the export settings and change the filetype to Windows Bitmap.
