DVD Decrypter

Post by ffixcollector » Tue May 03, 2005 5:11 pm

I used DVD decrypter to decrypt a dvd using the IFO mode. I got 1 small IFO file and several large VOB files. The IFO file would not play, so I tried to play the IFO files, the first one played fine, but the rest of them didn't have any sound. What went wrong?

The IFO file does not play video- VOBs do.

If you cannot hear the audio, chances are you need a AC3 decoder.
Also, make sure that the audio was ripped through the DVDdecrypter process.

As far as I can tell the audio should have been ripped through the dvd decrypter, what is strange is that I have audio on the first VOB but not the rest.

Also, is there any way I can rip the dvd as a single VOB instead of 5 VOBs?

No, the VOB's will be broken up if the content is larger than 1GB. You can look at the files themselves on the disc and see that is how the files are formatted. It's a limitation of the ISO 9660 standard DVDs use.

VideoHelp has some pretty good info abput what all those files on a DVD are for.

It is acctually possible to get one continuous file. What you want to do is go to Tools then settings and click IFO mode. You will see an option that says file splitting with a pull tab. Click on this and choose none. You will now get a continuous stream. Just beware that the size will be HUGE and might not work well though the Power DVD program. Let me know if you need anything else.
