Adobe Premiere Pro Movie Size

Post by Ragnarok414 » Thu Jun 16, 2005 6:47 pm

I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro Version 7.0, and I'm about halfway through an AMV I've put a lot of time into. When I save the movie and then go to view it as a separate file, there is a black border around all the clips I used. So, when I go to watch it in full screen mode, the video's corners are about 3 or 4 inches in from the screens corners. Is there anyway to make my clips all stretch out to fit the screen?

There's a setting somewhere in the project options, a checkbox marked "Automatically scale clips to fit project dimensions when added to the timeline" or something similar.

The operative phrase there is "when added to the timeline" -- clips that are ALREADY on the timeline will not be affected.

I stumbled upon that option earlier, but it doesn't really help me out much considering I have about 4:15 of footage already... Is there anyway to stretch out clips that are already in the work area?

You could use the Scale option on each clip's Effect Controls window, but there's no way to do it to all of them at once.

Actually, in Pro and Pro 1.5, you can do an effect to all clips at once.

First, go to one of the clips in your video and use the Scale setting in the Motion settings in the Effect Controls pane to adjust the size of the clip. Then, right click on the clip and hit Copy. Then, select all the clips in the project and right click and hit Paste Attributes. This will paste the same scale and effects from the first clip onto all the other clips, so make sure the only effect you have on that first clip is the scale one, or else you'll have to delete a whole bunch of effects. (I know this from personal experience.)
Life's short.

Dough!

Say, does that also work if you specifically highlight the Motion effect (not the clip itself) and hit Copy? I've copied and pasted individual effects (rather than all effects on the clip) like that before, but I didn't know you could paste to multiple clips simultaneously.
