VirtualDubMod can't read MKVs
I'm trying to load some MKVs into VirtualDubMod 1.5.10.1 so I can separate the audio and video streams to use for editing. I'm told that the AVI included in the MKV was encoded in XviD. Anyway, whenever I try loading the MKV into VDubMod, one of two things happen depending on the particular file:
1) VirtualDubMod crashes
2) After the Matroska file import filter parses the file, I get an error message that reads "Matroska stream 1 doesn't have a samplerate"
All of the files I'm trying to play load fine in VLC, so I don't think it's a matter of corrupted files. I've tried actually installing the Matroska codecs, but that didn't help as I still got the same crashes or error messages. In fact, installing Matroska de-registered my DivX and XviD codecs . I have since removed Matroska and re-installed DivX and XviD.
Anyone have any suggestions?

A timely thread...
I also would like to do this (to watch the Kamichu 720p MKVs on my television (like I do with everything else from Bittorrent after I size up and warpsharp, etc.. and then play with my HD divx player))
I read the AVS pages, but they seem to imply that you must use an older version and not 2.5:
http://www.avisynth.org/VariableFrameRateVideo
(under the subheading "opening vfr content in AviSynth")
Can you say how to load an mkv into the current AVS? (I tried what the above page said, but DirectShowSource() doesnt even seem to have the argument convertfps any more...)
--thanx
