I think i posted this in the right place: i downloaded this file and its an XviD and i can't get it to play
so what should i do i habe mdeia player classic and when i try to open it with that it says can't render the file

Hrm. You might not have the newest version of XviD. Have you downloaded the AMVApp yet? It has most of the codecs you'll need to watch videos on this site (save the few .rm and .mp4 videos you might run across).
I highly suggest removing any prior codec packs first though, there can be conflicts when you install a new set of codecs over an old set (which might also be your issue).
