Ah... I used to be so into making AMV's, got all the programs, read up on all the stuff... then I quit working with videos entirely for like a year and now I forgot EVERYTHING *sobs*
I got Vegas Video 6 (I used to work with 4, I believe) and dug up my old CD-R's with the footage I managed to save before my PC had one of its bi-annual heart attacks and simply gave out... but, go figure, Vegas will play hardly any of it. The footage either won't open at all or only the audio will. All of the files are in .avi format and I'm guessing that I'm missing a codec or something...? I loaded the files up in G-Spot and I *should* have the codecs needed (and the files do play in Windows Media Player), but they still won't load in Vegas.
Anyway, this is what G-Spot came up with for the videos I loaded...
1) 4CC code: MJPG
Name: Motion JPEG including Huffman tables
2 compatible codecs installed (AVI Draw, MJPEG Decompressor)
2) 4CC code: DX50/DIVX
Name: Divx 5.0
2 compatible codecs installed (DivX Decoder Filter, Xvid MPEG-4 Video Decoder)
I really hope someone can make sense of my blabbering and has an idea of what the issue might be... I hardly remember any of this stuff... And I'm dreading the day I'm going to try editing with AviSynth files in Vegas again >_<

You shouldn't be using DivX footage in Vegas (or any other NLE) anyway. Convert it to something else or serve it with AVISynth.
MJPEG shouldn't be a problem though... try installing a different MJPEG codec perhaps (or enable ffdshow's MJPEG support)?

By all reports, the new DGVFAPI actually makes that pretty easy.Angry Angel wrote:And I'm dreading the day I'm going to try editing with AviSynth files in Vegas again >_<

Oh, I haven't even heard of DGVFAPI...
Well, I know I've used that same footage before and it worked just fine, so I don't know why it's not working now... odd.
Yeah, I'll just try a different MJPG codec and see if that helps.
Thank you =3
