Wow, everything is now back to working order. It just took me...too many days to think about. Thanks again for everyone's help, you guys seriously rock.

My comp holds up pretty well when editing so that I don't notice much difference when windowblinds is turned off. I'll only unload it if i'm doing something really cpu-intensive.
