Problem with Vegas (Newbie)

I have some issues with sony vegas 6.0. When i drag or import a video only the sound will play and the video screen wont appear. Whats wrong?

the codec is wrong. u'll have to convert them

for vegas you have to reencode lossless to something like huffyuv or lagarith i dont have time to explain it all but its in the guides somewhere i think using the program Vdub or Vdubmod

this should give you a hint in the good direction
