I just bought premiere

How do u make the small clips from the Video ur importing..Like wat happens with WMM and its automatic..

ya premeire can't, im new to premeire too so what i do is prerender it in wmm then put it in premeire. It helps alot cause u can do basic effects in wmm then bulk it up in premeire. :)

I was thinking bout that but premiere cant read the file types for WMM...its really confusing and annoying..

you can make vids into avi also my version of premeire can read wmv weird.
you just change the output settings when you create the actual video.

i use ntsc 2.1 output wmv or the avi option of output.

get a program called avisplit. or just do the splitting in virtualdub.
auto scene detection has spoiled you all -_-

or do it in wmm. man, u shouldn't asume that we're talkin about auto scene. we're talkin about manual trim its way easier than using virtualdub or avisplit. i no i've tried them all.

do what minion said (the wmm avi output is restrictive) or you could just use the in-out points in premiere - seriously how does auto trim save you time anyway?

well i prefer to just prerender it and put it in ntsc 2.1
but ur case is strange normally premeire will read wmv files
