It's not a codec, it's a container. What are you trying to do? (with what tool, and with what OS?)

I'm not very familiar with that program, but you could try compressing to XviD with VirtualDubMod.Maverick013 wrote:im tryin to convert/compress my ectremly large video from avi to something smaller. im using gspot to do it but it says error, and the help section says i gotta find the codec or w/e. im on windoes ME

GSpot is a program designed to identify what codecs are required to play an AVI file.
The software you need to follow the EADFAG's section dokidoki linked to:
