Did your nero come with your computer or your dvd drive?

a store. try best buy, comp usa, newegg.com, circuit city, tiger direct, any number of computer stores.

no it did not come with the computer . i got nero 7 ultra edition at the store.

Type up everything on the front of the drive (like when you look at it closed, what does it say on it?) and post it here. That should give me a clue as to what you have.

cd does not equal dvd.

but that still leaves the issue of installation

for an external dvd burner (most likely slower than internal...and it does cost more) installation wouldn't be an issue
