Yep, same here. I find Premiere Pro unbearably slow. I try to seek through the timeline, and the screen barely updates. I try to preview, and Premiere tries to play in realtime, even though its too slow to play it in realtime.

6.5 is extremely responsive, I can seek through video footage with immediate results. I preview and it shows me what I want, at full speed.

I have no idea what the programmers at Adobe could have possibly done to make it display video SO MUCH SLOWER.
Agreed with the both of you. And hell Zarxrax, if you did the surfing tetris video on 6.5 and after effects, consider my question answered.

I know you are getting absolutes on what you should do but as I like to put it..

Do not ask "what's best" because this question cannot be answered objectively. Each and everyone has their own view about what's best in a certain area. The best is what works best for you!

So I'd say test out some of it features.. if you can get a hold of the full version you can see many things you can do with it. I'm sure Zarxrax did most of the crazy stuff you see in that video with AE and you can use AE with Vegas now.

Hope that answers your question or at least makes you look at the other side of the coin.. but I only expect in one ear and out the other.

And I expected you were still monitoring my account, waiting for my next thread, just so you could leave a smartass post in it, StalkerBoy.

Wow you couldn't be more wrong about that.. I monitor this forum and you happened to post.. I haven't even looked at your account or anything for months. Maybe back when we first got acquainted. If you expected me to be monitoring you or something that means your still thinking about me. It's nice to get such attention.

And don't look at the negative part of my post. You always seem close minded to anything I ever say to you. Always focused on all the negative and non of the positive. As an explanation to one thing I did one time a while back run into u on utube but that was completely accidental. If you take that as me stalking you then you are being quite dumb in thinking that. Again take this lightly but I don't think that'll be the case.. always taking things the wrong way.. as seems typical of you.

Blah blah blah. Insult insult insult. I even count three instances there where you speak as if you know me. You don't know me. I don't know you. We weren't "acquainted" you sick little hairlip. Leave me alone.

Isn't there an ignore list I can add this guy to? Anybody know? Does this forum even have that feature? I like to filter out retardation from my daily life as much as possible. It's bad enough that he follows me around on various other sites leaving the most rediculous 12-year-old troll posts imaginable.

The thread ended before you entered, thankfully. If Zarxrax himself uses 6, that's just about as good as everyone saying they use 6.

Whatever. You're going to post again. The more I'm annoyed, the more you're aroused. Just be happy I'm thousands of miles away.

Hey now! I love my Premiere Pro 2, and its fast enough for me. I can scroll through a timeline just fine as long as there's not complicated FX work going on.

Pro 2 actually has some cool filters included in the video effects. They add a few more with each version. Cool new transitions too.

The best thing about Pro 2 is that there's an audio mixer. For use beyond simply dragging an MP3 to my timeline (and even sometimes in EQing this), it's great! I love the feature.

I think the layout and functionality of the layout gets better everytime. For example, when adding video tracks and audio tracks you have more options.

I used to have 6 and it was when I had just started editing with Premiere. I remember there was this "video 1 A layer / B layer" thing and I remember it being pointless and space consuming.

Then again. I'm still really no expert. At all. I just make videos and they are fun.
