Help with Pinnacle 9

Post by omnislashmaster » Sat Aug 26, 2006 8:50 pm

I'm now attempting to make an AMV using Pinnacle Studio 9 Plus, but everytime I try to insert a clip to the timeline, a message always pops up saying that the clip uses an irregular frame rate and it may affect syncing. When I replay that clip, it has the correct audio but previews a clip very different from the one I want.

How do I fix this problem?

What codec is your source footage using? Don't use xvid/divx for editing.

DivX is the current codec but they are in AVI formats, but the funny thing is, I do the same thing with Final Fantasy FMV's (also using DivX codecs and in AVI format) and it doesn't have a problem.

It depends on how they were originally encoded. A low number of keyframes and variable framerates make for miserable editing.

You could try converting them to another format. HuffYUV or Lagarith being the recommended choice though beware the huge file sizes if you go this route.

i speak from past experience with pinnacle 7 and 9. you can edit in 23fps, but you'll have trouble syncing the video with the audio.
i HIGHLY suggest re-encoding with 29.97 fps. it'll save you headaches

Can it deal with 24fps footage?
