I haven't tried uncompressed footage, so that right there could be the problem. I *have* tried wmv, huffyuv, mpeg1, LEAD MCMP/MJPEG Codec (VFW), Intel IYUV Codec, Ligos Indio@Video Raw R1.2, DivX Codec 4.12, Microsoft Video 1, RealMedia, and XviD MPEG-4 codec.WilLoW :--) wrote:IMO your problem comes from your source footage...what's the codec of your sources ? (what kind of codec can WMM use ?)
WMM 2.0 will take huffyuv or any of these codecs fine if you're producing to wmv (though if the timeline is too complicated you need a lot of empty harddrive space to produce it). WMM 1.0 will take any of them and produce to wmv or NTSC AVI.
The only thing I haven't tried (aside from MPEG 2 and some of the other codecs in Vdub) is uncompressed footage. If that's the only option I guess I'm out. ^_^ I just don't have the space for that many uncompressed clips.

I don't think I could give general answers as to why it worked for me (I successfully exported a DV-AVI (NTSC) file at least three times so I don't exactly know if it's just my dumb luck).Scintilla wrote:Trying to remember what I know about it: it's a laptop IBM Thinkpad R31, not more than a year old, running Windows XP (don't know whether Home or Pro), WMM 2.0, and I think she used Uncompressed RGB source clips. Direct Stream Copy from DubMod For more details, you'd have to ask her.Arigatomyna wrote:I'd really like to look at Cyanna's computer - if she has an older codec or something that allows wmm's DV AVI to come out right, it would be a great help to everyone who uses the program. I really feel like we're all missing something now that I know it worked for someone. ~_~
Unlike Scintilla, I'm not exactly blessed with a technical mind so I practically had to be spoonfed on how to get the footage, export the finished product and upload it to the org. The only thing I really had no help in was the actual AMV construction.
Perhaps the next time he comes over to my place he can find out what the heck I did because I sure don't know. I didn't think exporting out of WMM was such an annoyence for others. I'm really surprised to see that I'm an exception to this. As much as I wish I had answers, I really don't.

I really didn't mean to sound like I was blaming you, it's just the jealousy and frustration talking. ^_~
I heard about your case (from Scintilla) a while back and have been trying to get it to work for me since I know it's something on my end - if it worked for one then there *is* a way. But so far I've come up with nothing, so I get a little angsty when I think about it.
One thing I can ask - did you adjust your framerate? I haven't experimented with framerates, and I know that's an issue in Premiere so it's another possibility. As far as I've heard, wmm doesn't have an limits on framerate (of the original footage), but I realize everything I've been using was 24 fps - that could also be the problem. ^_^;;
