Now with iMovieHD the problems found in the guide have been eliminated and you can deal with any size file, so I import directly. This allows you to skip the conversion process (a process in which you do loos quality). Now I rip by chapter so the chunks are not to big. The only issue is time, as Mpeg2s of that size can take a while to import, but the quality makes up for it. I working on a AMV right now with this process and it seems to be working great. I have used the process that you guys said for my first AMV and I was unhappy with the quality.

Thanks,
Keith
I have MacTheRipper and I love it. I use it to rip audio and make MP3s. 8-)

Anyway, you're saying I should get iMovie HD instead of Quicktime Pro. Hmm, might be a better choice, seeing as how there's no converting required and HD has sound effects.

Ya, I would go that way (with imovieHD). You can then edit the clip in ImovieHD. Make sure that you split the streams when you use Mactheripper so you can get the pure Mpeg2 two stream or it will do it as a VOB file which doesn't help.

Anyway, try it out. If you have anymore questions, just post or Email me.

Peace,
Keith

Oh I forgot to say that the files in HD will be big, so you can either take the clips you need out (Once the chapter is in HD) and trash the rest. I have a large hard drive and an external so I really don't worry about it myself.

Peace,
Keith
