I still think you don't quite know what you are in for with step 6... if you could even get that working at all...

Melanchthon - check out http://www.novatech.co.uk

I've always found them very friendly and helpful with great after sales support and quick delivery. Plus, they often have great deals on hardware. Specifically, I picked up my 250Gb external HD for £50 or so. AND a free mini-football, but that may not be a draw... *g*

VicBond guide <--- Compressing into DivX 4.12 codec is a lossy stage and therefore taboo. but following the guide.. there is not near as much loss.. and your tight on space right?.. I ripped two Dvds both 4 and some odd gig.. compressed them with DivX 4.12 and they are now .. 1.83 Gig and 1.50 gig.. not much.. but it still helps with space.

That guide actually needs to be updated. Most people here agree it's bad advice to do that...

Yea I agree it is. To get the best quality anyway. generally its still up to the user... the HDD would be a big help. there are several sites.. ebay of course.. I just looked my self.. several very good deals .. only trouble is finding out if they are NTFS.. NewEgg is pretty good as well. lol by the way .. VicBond just gives that as an option "I believe I'm the only person who does it because it can have a negative effect on quality." Best of luck Melanchthon

Take Care everyone
