a Question about 23.976fps to 24 and back: the "old" guise says to use abcavi tag editor, and the new guide doesnt have that page yet, so i was wondering if thats still the best way to get 24FPS -> 23.976FPS conversion, of should i use avisynth?
and if avisynth, than before or after i apply filters?

Confusion on the MPEG-1 encoding section (but this is dated 2002, so I'm surprised someone didn't catch it sooner):
40 * 1024 = 40960
though this isn't completely understandable, when you consider that
40 * 1042 = 41680
The problem is thatThe MPEG-1 page wrote:If you want a 40MB file, take 41680, divide it by the # of seconds in your video, subtract 224 (or whatever bitrate you've got for your audio) and that's what you should put for your average bitrate.

Okay, I'm really sorry for the triple-post, but Cy and I just found another problem with the bitrate calculation method described in ErMaC's MPEG-1 encoding page...
You start with 40 MB
40 * 1024 = 40960 KB
Divide by number of seconds = KB/sec
The problem is that the final value has to be in Kbps (in fact, it has to be in Kbps before we subtract the 224Kbps for the audio), but nowhere in the process is there a conversion from bytes to bits... you have to multiply by 8 at some point.
What sparked this discovery was when Cyanna told me that she was getting a negative number for the final result.
Now I'm really surprised nobody caught this in two years.

Yeah, I know. I've got to update it with a few things but I dont want to do the current update until I'm more certain that the amvapp will be a little more XP friendly as it's not at the moment.Herbert West wrote:The "exporting huffyuv" pic is linked to your local harddrive:
