Premeire Going Slow

Post by -ssj2gohan- » Sun Mar 09, 2003 8:44 pm

I am having some serious problems. I just got more a lot more RAM so my PC is running faster and at first Premiere was but then I installed Premiere 6.5 (I had 6.0) and then my premiere started loading files and importing really slow. The video played real skippy in the timeline. I tried resinstalling and downloadign Premiere again. Then I installed 6.0 again and its still all slow. It loads up fast but loads files slow. Some people told me it might be because I have low disk space but just recently I went from 1GB and now I have 3.7GB free and its still going slow. Can someone please help me in solving this problem, maybe someone has had this happen before. I really need to get back to making M.V.s

Did you try unistalling both and then install 6.5?

Something tells me that you only having 3.7GB of free space and being a DBZ fan. You're probably not using very good source clips.

What format are your source clips in ?

I am guessing divx.

Unless you're doing MJPEG > AVS switch, you're going to probably be dealing with lag and slow down. It's normal >_> <_<. You also neglect to mention your processor speed.

Not to mention that he said he w4r3zed Premiere.
"If someone feels the need to 'express' himself or herself with a huge graphical 'singature' that has nothing to do with anything, that person should reevaluate his or her reasons for needing said form of expression, possibly with the help of a licensed mental health practitioner."

What? Well I had 1.3GB and I deleted some stuff to get 3.7GB now and its stil slow. My friend has the same amount of space and less RAM and his Premiere goes great. No I am NOT using DivX, I know that those files go slow. I am using the same files I used before, The difference is that now Premiere loads my files slow.

cuz ur downloading a whole lotta copywrited material owned by a company called Adobe.. it's basically stealing $550 from them, which is how much Premiere costs. ur threads can get deleted for talking about "downloading" certain programs that require u to buy them. this also applies to "downloading" anime. i think talkin about fansubbed anime is alright, until it gets licensed in the US. :?

...back to ur problem, could u plz tell us what format ur footage is in and what processing speed ur comp has (1 GB, 2 GB, etc.)?
