gah. okay i read some of the other topics and i have something simular but not quite. I've used Divx codeced avi's in Premeire before and it worked. But now when i try them i can't upload them with out causing and error and having the program shut down on me (with my YuGiOh eps).
But i can watch and ep just fine (captain planet) but i can't use it in the timeline. i can put it there but i get no video on my display screen or on the exported movie.
I've used Justice League eps in a Divx codec and it worked just fine. (don't go looking, i'm only half done). and it previews just fine?
What the junk is going on?
little help please.
It works but it doesn't....

I'm not sure what you mean by "uploading," but if you're talking about rendering the video - it takes a _lot_ of power to render accurately from DivX sources. It's possible your computer just can't handle the full and constant data flow of rendering an entire project from DivX source, so it chokes and crashes. It's also possible that one of your files is simply corrupt, and the corruption is causing the crash.

i know you can make it work, as i did a video from divx that i had encoded myself....but as a rule it isn't a good idea to use divx to edit from....jbone is right....but just b/c you can view it, doesn't necessarily mean it will play. I had lots of files that did that to me back in my newbie days. apparently with certain types of codecs, you need a certain variation to actually be able to edit from.....mpeg4 does has the same kind of problem which divx is based out off.
