Hello! And welcome to the world of AMVs. While an apparent majority of us do use PCs, there are also those who use Macs. While it's not yet linked as an official guide off the site, Paul Quinnell (Red Wolf) has put together a guide to AMVs on the Macs- it's located here (www.redwolfstudio.org). Good luck!

iMovie is your best friend on the Mac for AMVs. It is easy to use for beginners but still has some neat special effects, transitions, and titles. Best of all, it is free :D

I'm currently in the process of updating that guide you were pointed to but the version that is currently up will get you up and running just fine for now.

Buy QuickTime Pro from Apple ($30). Then anything you can open in QuickTime you can export as a DV Stream which is the format iMovie accepts.
