My current project has footage that I would deem to be of "good" quality. However, I have several scenes that contains very small, 1 maybe 2 pixel wide lines that are very jagged. The footage is ripped from DVD, and has been inverse telecined.
What I’m looking for is a filter/program that will smooth out the lines.
I have already tried a temporal cleaner in VirtualDub but this does not seam to clean up the lines and only creates some ghosting.

(1) Is this the Metropolis DVD again? I've gotten absolutely horrible results from some of that footage, no matter what processes I put the sources through...
(2) Have you tried blending those fields together with e.g. a de-interlace filter? The inverse telecine process AFAIK is not the same as de-interlacing the video.
