Movie Maker Sux

Post by NausicaaFan84 » Fri Aug 08, 2003 3:00 am

Hi everyone, I've used Windows Movie Maker to create three AMVs ( one of which is uploaded. Check it out, here: http://nago.animemusicvideos.org/locald ... hp?v=21306 ). Anyway, the idiot-proof controls are easy to work with, but the friggin' program sticks in random frames from other clips into various parts of the movie! :evil: I tried upgrading to 2.0, but it didn't help. Anybody know how to fix that? Btw, if your suggestion is use a different program, I also use Premier 6.5 (which is also giving me problems).

How is Premiere 6.5 giving you problems? It's alot better than Movie Maker(1 or 2). More people use it as well.

I can't get the transitions to work for some reason. I gotta be doing something right 'cause I can get it to work with images. When i comes to video, however, all I get is scrambling where the transition should be. At first I kept forgetting to render my work area, but only images work still, video doesn't.

The secret to Premiere is reading the manual. :?

True. I'm just too lazy to look through it. I start college in October and Premier's gonna one of the programs I'll have to work with. Would help knowing a bit about beforehand, huh? :roll:

And make sure you're not using divx/xvid/any-type-of-mpeg4 in premiere :)

Well, I found out the hard way that DivX and Premier don't like each other, but Xvid actually worked well. o_o;

I use WMM2, and it works fantastic for me. I got an install CD in the mail from Microsoft because we have WinXP. Make sure you have that, because that's what it's optimized for.

(by the way, can you somehow rip DVD's and get into WMM2? i've read the guides and i'm lost)

Hmm.. Well, I downloaded my copy of WMM2 off of microsoft.com. I do have XP, but it still doesn't run too well.
And about ripping dvds into WMM2, just use a program to capture the video into avi format. After that all you have to do is import the avi files into the collections.
