The Help-About page will tell you what version you have.
You might want to put this link on your Fave list:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/movi ... efault.asp
If you go there, then select "Intermediate How To", you'll see a tutorial called "Creating Video Transitions".

ok got it ... then I have windows movie maker 2
hmm... it seems, that I defined the word crossfading wrong cause I understanded it is that kind of transition:
A prime picture/video ...
then i want to have another picture/video to go fading over the prime picture/video ... so like the character in the prime picture/video is reminding something ... BUT! when the other picture/video has faded away, the prime picture/video is still there! ..
ok, now i translated my opinion of crossfading .. and i think i did it very bad, but thats the only way i can translate it hope u understanded what i was trying to say

I think what you want is called an "overlay", and probably a "masked" overlay, meaning the secondary picture does not cover the entire screen; i.e. some of the first picture still appears.yamyy wrote:ok got it ... then I have windows movie maker 2

I don't think WMM will allow that. You need another video track which WMM doesn't have. Funny thing about this thread is - I've never used WMM . Maybe someone who has can step in and explain it if it is possible.
(WMM allows title overlays as explained here.)
That software package that I mentioned in my first reply will do overlays, however, and a lot of other stuff, too.
PC Magazine recently posted a nice overview of video editing software here.
