.d2v file problem

Post by KillDieMurder » Sun Jan 04, 2004 4:16 am

Ok, I read the guide many times and did exactly what it says but i'm haveing problems with the imported video footage.

What I have:
VOB file
.d2v file
.avs file
Adobe Premiere Pro

I ripped the VOB file from the DVD using Smartripper (I was told SR can make d2v files during the ripping process, this true? how?). After I have the VOB file on my hard drive I opened up DVD2AVI, set the settings as specified in absolute destiny/Ermacs guide and "save project". The proccess takes about 30-50 seconds. I create an .AVS file:
LoadPlugin("C:\AVSFilters\MPEG2DEC.DLL")
MPEG2Source("F:\AMV\DVD2AVIfiles\bebopEp17.d2v")

The paths are correct.

I open Premiere Pro and import the AVS file(I have the "IM-Avisynth.prm" plug-in). What I get is 9.29 seconds of red garbbled crap.

I tried this with 2 different VOB files and got the same exact results. Is it a problem with the .d2v creation, or importing? Or something else all together?

can you take a screen shot of the "red garbled crap" and try viewing the .avs file in wmp. I think the red stuff is meant to be an "unrecognized exception" error but we'll see after u play it in wmp and tell ne what comes up  .

First try opening the file in avs file in virtual dub. If it works then you may need to get the Premiere Pro Avisynth Plugin which is dicussed and available through this thread.

Here's a pic of the red crap.

I tried opening the avs file in virtual dub but an error came up. It only flashed for a fraction of a second so I couldn't read it.

Yes, that does look like it's supposed to be an error message, but somehow got distorted...

Did you try getting mpeg2dec3.dll instead and seeing if that works?

ahh, thx Scintilla. I'm one step closer now.

This is what I get when I import the avs file now. It's the whole 24 minute episode, just all messed up.

It might help to see the script if it is a script error...

Excellent. Thanks a lot guys.
There's just one last thing.
Is this normal? (note the times are in the same exact place in the clip)
