i need some help, once i have already ripped movies onto my computer, they are usually in avi or divx (or whatever.. i'm really no good at this) form. unfortunately, i need to convert it to .mov form so my imovie program can use it. does anyone know of a way i can convert the files with a program, hopefully for free? THANKS.

Well, the program I use usually lets me import the files to imovie, except the problem is, it only will rip great amounts of footage, which need to be reduced to the few shots I need.
Thats my problem with the editing for the most part. However, if that doesnt bother you, look for a program called "hand brake" on versiontracker.com. That should allow you to rip files, and then import them to imovie.
Hope that helps, I'm looking for help on a few of my problems as mentioned above as it is...
