need help :( haven't found anything in the net

Post by SSJ_TRUNKS_SSJ » Thu Mar 25, 2004 12:23 pm

I ve a big big problem :((
I was making my amv in adobe premiere 6.0.
And after loading my project yesterday, adobe says, that it couldn't find my imported clips.i shall choose the right clips. After chosing the right clips,it said, that this clip isn't the right one or an unsupported file.
My clips are only xvid files and i haven't had any problems with this till now.So i ve installed adobe again.
Now i ve 2 problems :(
I can't export my amv in divx, because adobe didn't find any codec to export it except this DV NTSC ,but that's not an kompressor like divX.
And adobe still didn't find my imported clips :((
I don't know what to do.
Pleasssee help me

You really shouldn't export your AMV as DivX straight from Adobe, as it doesn't give you options to control settings. XviD/DivX clips are notorious for being problems in Premiere, because Premiere requires keyframes to function correctly... etc. Try re-installing the AMVApp, that might help.

Because I can't resist, what song are you using? After all, we all know that Kompressor Does Not Dance...

Thx for trying to help me,but i think that you don't know what my problem is.
My problem is: I ve made a project, okay??In this is a timeline with many clips and under the clips is my audio line.I ve saved this project and closed premiere. After opening premiere, this programm says"your file(it means the file,i work with in the file line) has been found".But that can not be,because the avi file is on the place on my compi, where it always is.So i ve clicked on this file, which adobe can't found and adobe says"this file is different from the files adobe is searching for"although it is the right file.
Do you understand???My adobe can't read my normal avi clips anymore.
That's normal divX clips.It has always worked,till now :(
Please helppp me

OK Dokool does know what he's talking about.he was trying to save yourself the headache of editing with Xvid clips as you shouldn't be.Now as for the problem it almost sounds like its a codec issue.Try reinstalling the DivX and/or XviD codecs and see if that helps at all.

Just a guess here... but under your project settings is it set as DV Playback and not Video for windows?

This is the only way I could get my machine to replicate your problem.

Luck.

If you just installed or changed any codecs after you started your project Primiere tends to do that. uninstall ALL your codecs, Resintall JUST the one that you used to make the clips that are in your project, (in this case Xvid) then try opening the project. I've had this problem before many times, which is why i'm trying to switch to AVisynth now (wich in itself opened up a bunch of other headaches until i figured it out)

Hopefully this will save your current project, but I also recomend you not use Divx (or any variant) in your future projects for editing, as I have learned myself from experience.

oh yea, as for your second problem, you have to use a frame server to export directly to divx. Buy the license for $25 at videotools and use their PremierePro Video Server Plugin to make a fake AVI file that you then load into virtualdub to make the divx file. THis is probably easiest. Same file can be used to make mpeg2 file in TmpgEnc. [/url]

I wouldn't use that program. There are better and free methods of doing that stuff.

Well, one way is to export from Premiere in HuffYUV, and take that into VDub. Sure it takes up a lot of space, but it also gives you a nice lossless copy of your video that can be converted to anything you need.
