Pausing on an image in Vegas 4

Post by icebloomafoo » Thu Apr 15, 2004 12:30 am

Hi, I'm a newbie at all this fun stuff, and I was just wondering how exactly you could make a pause in the movie, (not just while making the movie, I mean for a still image to be displayed for a few seconds longer than it does...) I don't know if I'm explaining what I want correctly, but I'm trying...

While I'm sure there is an easier way, I'm lazy right now and dont feel like breaking out the vegas manual. But one way to do it is to apply a velocity envolope to the footage and adjust the speed to 0.

If the frame that you want to freeze happens to be the last one in the source clip (meaning last in the source, not the last in the event), then you can simply drag the right edge of the event as long as the Loop parameter is unchecked.

For the Loop parameter, right-click the event, select Switches, un-check Loop.

If Loop is checked, then dragging past the end of the source will fill in with frames starting from the beginning of the source file; i.e. your clip will "loop".

Sweet, thanks! I just decided to take a snapshot and drag that out instead, :) But now I know for next time, thanks! I still can't figure out velocity envelopes, though, I thought I could...
