After Effects error - getting desperate

Post by Zarxrax » Fri Jun 11, 2004 1:02 am

I am working on a very large project, and I have what is basically a very large video wall. I currently have 64 videos on the wall, and it's only about half full so far. My main composition currently consists of 210 layers (I managed to move about 100 or so other layers into precomps).
When I use a camera that shows the entire scene at once, like the Front camera, a certain section of my project will throw this error:

After Effects error: retrieving frame from video stream. (3)
(53 :: 34)

Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? I have been working on this project for over 6 months now, and I totally can't believe its doing this to me now. I've tried asking at creativecow already with no response :(

Zarxrax.
It sounds like its a problem with one of the individual streams. have you tried different resolutions or trying to go solo layers to isolate which stream it might be?

Yea, check that adobe link for more info. And my pc isnt running out of memory, cause Windows XP clearly shows that its not running dry.

oh yeah and also another stupid question. does it happen in any specific frame or anywhere, anytime you zoom out enough to see the whole comp.

Theres this one point in the video where i took all of the videos that were allready laid down, and i copied their layers, and put these copied layers all at the same point on the timeline. Its after this frame where the problem starts. Its probly hard to understand what i mean, so heres a copy of the project files, both ae 6.0 and 6.5 version. Theres a 3rd project file included, which the other 2 are dependant on.

I think I might have found the problem. The point where the stuff fails to render is the point where i imported stuff fmro the 2nd project file. Any idea how I could totally move the stuff I need into a single project file, so the other one isnt required?

What happened, was one day I realized I had totally messed up part of the project beyond repair, so I had to revert back to a month old backup of the project, then I just imported the broken project and pasted in the new work that I had done.
