Greetings. I am new to this site, and I wish to learn how to make beautiful AMVs. 8) I have gone through the internet in search of the best software for the production of these entertaining creatures, but have found little to no help. Imagine my excitement when I stumbled upon this site! I have a question for all you long time veterans of the AMV creation. Which software do you find to be the best for music video construction? Do I have to have a DVD drive to my computer to make one of these? I have a lot of great ideas for AMVs, but I need some suggestions before I purchase any software. If you could help me, I would be so amazingly greatful.
Thank you.

Well ... if you're just starting out, you could start using Windows Movie Maker (on PC) or iMovie (on Mac) and when you're ready to try some challenging stuff, you can save up for a copy of Adobe Premiere on PC or Final Cut Express (or Pro if you have a lot more money) on Mac.
As with owning a DVD drive, it does help if you want to source from DVDs. Otherwise, the other method is video capture with a capture card through a DVD or VHS player.
Hope some of that helps.

Yeah ... I use a Mac ... it works and I like it.
