Hi I would like to know if there's a movie maker for .mvk files? All help is appreciated ^-^

I think you mean .mkv, which is Matroska video (.mka is Matroska audio). Go here to download the Matroska pack, and that should be enough to play in at least WMP.

If you mean editing with .mkv, I don't know about that. I'd recommend browsing Matroska for help.

I've never gotten mkv's to work either!

the Matroska Video's do not play on my machine ( Windows ME ) - which is very strange!

I'll download what this guy says is ( a complete package ) and let you know ^_^

:oops: Ooops! Sorry I'm sleepy today *pinches herself* I know how to play the mkv it's just the software to make amv because I can only get the movie I'm using in that file. I'll browse through that but

I imagine you should be able to open .MKV's in VirtualDubMod, and then direct stream copy the video to an AVI.

But of course, for editing purposes, you'd probably be better off converting the clips you need to a HuffYUV AVI, though it'll take more space.

hmmm

like, it works - ok, but it seems to acting like a .ogm file container!

To encoded it, I used "Virtual Dub Mod" and it encoded it and I can play it back in it - it won't play in the Media Player!

Soo, to answer the question, the answer is VirtualDubMOD ^_^

Because it's an Open Source format, and not one controlled by MS, so there's no way that WMP is going to offer native support. There is, however, a perfectly functional plugin for it.
