Problems with .VOB & Final Cut Express

Post by Hactar42 » Tue Nov 23, 2004 11:42 pm

I am trying to create an AMV using Final Cut Express on my Mac. I have ripped the DVD's with DVDBackup and was able to import most of the .VOB files into final cut with no problems. With every DVD I try import, Final Cut will not recognize VTS_02_4.VOB as a valid file. I have also tried ripping the file with SmartRipper through Virtual PC, and I have run into the same problem. The ripped file will play in my media player with no problems. What can I do so that Final Cut will recognize this file?

Can you rip the DVD so that each episode or program chain or chapter or whatever unit you want to use is ripped to only one VOB file?

Thank you. Ripping each chapter alone worked.
