newbie needs help

Please, if someone could tell me what FREE software is best for making amvs, I would be very much obliged. I am new at this and am having trouble figuring out how to copy dvds and get past thier secruities. Please help... I don't know what to do!!!!

WMM2 is recommeneded from me.

WMM2? you mean Windows Movie Maker 2? If so can I download that off of Microsoft's site? Will I be hassled by Bill Gates? Who is the real Slim Shady? Oops... I kinda got a little off track there. Ummm... WMM2... right... got it. Thanks. This software works though? I really apreciate the reply.

**Uggh** I just read this post and it sounds horrible. That's what I get for posting when my brain is affected by the flu... bleah!! >_<

Correct.

If so can I download that off of Microsoft's site?

Microsoft has took off the individual download for WMM2. (There used to be a individual download for WMM2, but since Service Pack 2 came out, the only way to get it is by installing SP2 with it.) If you dont wan't to install SP2, I can send you the installer for WMM2. (I still have it on my HD.)

I installed WMM2 on my computer and can't find the stupid thing. What's worse, is that now my WMM1 doesn't want to work anymore.

I shall continue the search for it on my computer but I forsee no luck.
Ah well. I have to keep trying other "poor man's methods" if I can't find it

If you have WMM1, then you might have Windows Millennium Edition.

WMM 2.x only works under Windows XP.

So, you'll either have to unistall WMM2 and reinstall WMM1, or (if you have Windows ME) will have to buy the Windows XP Home upgrade and install that. (The latest retail version of the XP Upgrade comes with the Service Pack 2 and WMM 2.1 already included.)
