WMV to Quicktime Movie converstion

Macs dont recognize .wmv's as movie files, so i need to convert them to quicktime files. Anyone know of any good convertion programs? It would be a really big help! thanks!

Well actually I found a way to convert files to .avi's but that file type still cannot be digested by Final Cut Express or iMovie. Does anyone know of any avi convertion programs for mac?

i have it but wmp isnt the default video player for the mac, so it wont allow me to import those files into a video editing program. It spits them back out and says they are in a format that [name of app here] doesnt recognize.

If you are trying to edit with the .wmv's you could try using ffmpegX. You should be able to convert the .wmv's into something you can use. You can find ffmpegX at http://www.macupdate.com

Jw... but, what is this question for? I mean, why would you need to convert any wmv's? Unless... oh wait, unless you want to make a KH vid that you said you would never do because you said you wouldnt try to outdo me. Just so you know, if you do make a vid. of KH I'm taking it to heart, because you said to my face that you wouldn't. I don't mean to sound selfish here but I prolly do. It's just that I found them and I found KH and then you beat the crap out of my while borrowing it before I had the chance to win my own game and now it seems your doing it again with this vid... along with the whole reason you began creating AMV's, to better me. Just a simple question, if I were you I'd think nice and hard before crushing me and stepping on any of my feeble attempts to create god forbid a good AMV with a simple program such as WMM. Just cause your family throws money out to knick-knacks and state-of-the-art software dosent mean you have to rub every friggen vid in my poor face. Anyway, enough of my whining, see you next period.

I am getting serious flashbacks to about a year and a half ago right about now.

(Except that my counterpart was using Premiere and/or Final Cut, not WMM.)

Is there a program that is free or a trial version that I can use to convert WMVs to Quicktime quality. I to for the fact that Geocities does not allow WMV files for uploads. I'm Trying to upload a EyeCatch with Audio for my Anime Series- but I can't do it until, I figure out a program that I can use.

Does anyone know of a program that I can use or buy that is not too expensive? I do have adobe 8.0 -but I'm not going to use it if it degrades my quality. I've seemed to have trouble looking for one on the internet for downloading.
